Military courthouse wedding — online, from anywhere in the world
Military life doesn't pause for wedding planning. Deployment orders arrive fast. PCS moves happen on short notice. Courts close. Leave gets denied. Courthouse Cloud was built for exactly this reality — delivering a legal courthouse marriage license and complete military wedding ceremony via secure video call, from any base, ship, or deployment location on earth. No courthouse visit. No leave required. No delay.
Every Courthouse Cloud marriage follows the official Utah County online marriage program — the first and most established legal pathway for online marriages in the United States. The resulting marriage certificate is a certified government document, valid for all military benefits purposes from the moment the ceremony ends.
Same-day rush available: If deployment is imminent, our rush service can have you legally married within 2–6 hours of booking. Available 7 days a week, including weekends and most holidays. No courthouse visit. No waiting for business hours.
Not sure how the process works? Our step-by-step guide covers everything from marriage license application to receiving your certified certificate.
See How It Works →Military benefits that activate immediately upon marriage
Marriage is a legal status change that triggers a cascade of military benefits — but only from the date the marriage is legal. Getting married through Courthouse Cloud before deployment or PCS ensures those benefits start the day of your ceremony, not weeks later when civilian courthouse paperwork finally processes.
BAH Increase
With-dependent rate activates from your ceremony date
TRICARE Coverage
Full dependent health coverage through DEERS enrollment
SGLI Beneficiary
Designate your spouse as beneficiary immediately after ceremony
Basic Allowance for Housing: Your BAH rate increases significantly upon marriage. Getting married before a deployment or PCS move ensures you receive the with-dependent BAH rate from day one — not weeks later when paperwork catches up. The difference can be hundreds of dollars per month.
Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System: Once legally married, your spouse becomes immediately eligible for DEERS enrollment — the gateway to all military dependent benefits. You'll need your official marriage certificate to complete enrollment. We mail certified copies to APO/FPO/DPO addresses at no extra cost.
Health Insurance Coverage: Upon DEERS enrollment, your spouse gains access to TRICARE health coverage. Enrollment requires a legally recognized marriage certificate — which Courthouse Cloud provides within hours of your ceremony.
Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance: You can designate your spouse as your SGLI beneficiary immediately following your legal marriage. This takes effect before you ship out — and requires only your legal marriage date and certificate.
Witnesses for your military wedding ceremony
Utah law requires two witnesses (18+) present via video and audio for the full ceremony. For military couples, a fellow service member, a family member joining by video, or anyone you choose qualifies. Witnesses can be located anywhere in the world — they simply join the same secure video link.
If arranging witnesses is difficult due to operational tempo, deployment, or communication restrictions, our professional witness service provides two certified witnesses — included free in Premium and Same-Day Rush packages, or available as a $50 add-on.
Which military branches qualify?
All active duty, Reserve, and National Guard members of every U.S. military branch are eligible. There are no residency requirements — you do not need to be in Utah or even in the United States.
- U.S. Army — Active Duty, Reserve & National Guard
- U.S. Navy — Active Duty & Reserve
- U.S. Marine Corps
- U.S. Air Force & Space Force
