Complete your courthouse marriage license application.

Both parties complete the online courthouse marriage license application through a secure link we send you. A valid government-issued photo ID is required — a passport or driver's license works perfectly.

No Social Security Number is required. Non-U.S. citizens are fully eligible. Most couples complete this step in 15 minutes.

Important: Utah's marriage license is valid for 32 days from the date of issuance. Your courthouse wedding ceremony must take place within that window.

    Ceremony

Your live courthouse wedding ceremony, by video.

At your scheduled time, you and your partner join a secure video call for your online wedding ceremony with your licensed Utah officiant. This is a real, legally binding civil wedding ceremony — the same as what takes place at a courthouse in person.

Utah law requires two witnesses (18+) present via video and audio for the full ceremony. You can bring your own, or add our professional witness service. Guests are welcome to join via the same link from anywhere in the world.

The ceremony takes 10–20 minutes. At the end of the call, you are legally married.

    Certificate

    Receive your courthouse wedding certificate.

A digital certified copy is emailed to you within 1 hour of your ceremony. The physical certified original — issued directly by Utah County — is mailed within 2 business days and arrives within 3–10 business days domestically.

Your marriage certificate will not say "online." It is a standard U.S. marriage certificate, identical in form to one issued after an in-person courthouse ceremony — because legally, it is.
